Elie Freilich

Dr. Elie Freilich, DDS

Dr. Elie Freilich is a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He grew up in New York, where he received his bachelors majoring in computer science. Despite his love of technology, he switched gears and got his doctorate in dental surgery from Stony Brook University.

He then advanced his training at the oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at Boston University Medical Center and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Medical Center, two Level I trauma centers. In that period, he had extensive training in dentoalveolar surgery, implant and pre-prosthetic surgery, office-based anesthesia, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, TMJ disorders, oral pathology, and surgical oncology. As part of his training, he completed a one-year general surgery internship and was appointed chief resident in his final year of training.

He spent 5 years with a private oral surgery practice in St. Louis focusing on extracting teeth and wisdom teeth, implant, bone grafting, biopsies, dental sedation, and patient comfort. He now works with Mid-America Oral Surgery and teaches at A.T.Still University School of Dentistry and Oral Health.

Robert Batdorf

Dr. Robert Batdorf, DMD

Dr. Robert Batdorf earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. He completed competitive oral and maxillofacial surgery training through hospital-based internships in Dallas, Texas, before returning to South Florida to complete his residency training at Broward Health Medical Center and Nova Southeastern University. His training included dentoalveolar surgery, implant surgery, anesthesia, facial trauma, pathology, and complex surgical care in both outpatient and hospital settings.

Dr. Batdorf's interest in oral and maxillofacial surgery was shaped in part by his own experience undergoing orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery to improve bite function and airway health). That experience continues to influence his patient-centered approach to care, with an emphasis on empathy, clear communication, and helping patients feel informed and comfortable throughout treatment.

Dr. Batdorf relocated to the Saint Louis region to continue advancing his training under Dr. Reza Movahed, with particular focus on orthognathic and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery, while continuing to provide a broad scope of oral and maxillofacial surgical care on a daily basis. Outside of the office, he enjoys exploring the St. Louis and Southern Illinios area with his wife and their golden retriver puppy, Loki.
